Osaka Nights – Dotonbori, the City That Never Rests

I didn't expect Dotonbori to hit me like that. One moment you're just walking by the canal, and suddenly you're surrounded by lights so bright they almost hum. The giant Glico running man smiles down at you like he's seen a million nights like this — and still enjoys every one of them.
People everywhere — laughing, taking selfies, holding trays of takoyaki too hot to eat. The smell of grilled food mixes with the breeze from the water, and it's honestly kind of perfect.
I jumped on one of those little boats that glide through the canal. The lights reflected on the water looked unreal — like the city was trying to show off. The guide was talking, but I barely listened; Osaka itself was louder, in the best possible way.
After the ride, I grabbed a beer and some yakitori from a tiny stand that probably hasn't closed before midnight in years. Sat by the water, watched strangers go by, and felt like part of the city for a while.
No big story, no perfect ending — just a night that sticks with you. That's Osaka.
